“Donate What You Don’t Need to Those Who Do” – A Solidarity Initiative Supporting Displaced Families in Aley – November 5, 2024
Under the slogan “Donate What You Don’t Need to Those Who Do,” the Lebanese Association for Sustainability and Social Responsibility (LASSR), in collaboration with EtsNizar, organized a solidarity initiative on Monday, November 5, 2024, aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by displaced families living outside collective shelters in the city of Aley.
The initiative focused on reaching families in greatest need in their homes. Seven households were visited, including families with members of different age groups. Clothing and age-appropriate toys were distributed to children, along with clothing for older adults. The initiative reflected the principle of sharing items we no longer need with those who need them most.
The visits covered the following households:
- 13 people, including 5 children.
- 18 people, including 3 children.
- 7 people, including 4 children.
- 4 people, including an elderly woman and a visually impaired elderly man.
- 8 people, including 2 children.
- 13 people.
- 8 people, including 13 boys and children.
According to the initiative's records, the total number of beneficiaries reached 102 individuals.
LASSR hopes that this campaign will serve as a meaningful step toward building a more caring, inclusive, and sustainable society, where solidarity and mutual support remain fundamental values.
